Lesley Ottey

Lesley Ottey reflections

I think . . .
Harry - I think it was fun.It is a bit disgusting how many waste goes into the kate vally which should not.

Rio - I think it was awesome because we learn’t what goes to kate valley. And the True percent of waste is 6 % which means we should be recycling or reusing it.

Daniel -The session with lesley ottey was quite disturbing and fun at the same time. The fun part about the session was that if you recycled paper and cardboard, you’d save a lot of trees.
The Disturbing part was that 94% of the waste we put into the rubbish, isn’t rubbish.

This morning Lesley Ottey from Masterguard came to our syndicate to teach us about rubbish and landfills. She told us that only 6 PERCENT of what goes to landfill is true rubbish. The rest is either green waste(45%), plastic(13%), glass(6%), metal(6%) and paper and cardboard(24%). She showed us some slideshows about rubbish and recycling. We found out that if we composted all our green waste the kate valley landfill will last for twice as long. SAVE THE PLANET!!! By Kyla and Callan.

Our next task was to make a slideshow about the Olympics. There were 4 assignments to choose from. They were: Ancient Olympics vs Modern Olympics, Olympic clothing, drugs and the Olympics and the London green games.
Our third and final task was Espana. We had to make a poster or brochure about Spain.
Soon we will find out who won and they will get a prize!!!

Today at extension writing we are writing speeches to inspire a sport team or an Olympic athlete. We have been doing this for about 2 weeks. But instead of doing that you could also write a speech if you had won a gold medal.
